Below is an excert from a forum conversation

Re: The Zinger captive bolt gun

Lisa L.: I use the rabbit zinger and love it, but I did have an *almost* injury from it. I had the barrel pulled all the way out ready to fire it and one of the bands, which was worn out, snapped, flung back and struck me IN the eye and on the face. When I say IN the eye - it hit my safety glasses which I always wear when using it. If I hadn't had those glasses on, I probably would have lost my eye. The part that hit my face left a good welt for about 2 weeks.

Sal: Here is the terms of sale.http://www.therabbitwringer.com/html/zinger_tos.html

As it states: Always wear safety goggles (eye protection) and (hand Protection) leather gloves or similar work ormechanic's gloves when in use. All bystanders must also wear eye protection.

Glad you were wearing the safety glasses!

Lisa L.: Absolutely! Sal - you did a great job with the terms of sale and in pointing out the need for safety glasses. The fact that the band snapped is MY fault. I didn't pay enough attention to the signs of wear. it was well beyong its normal life expectancy and I should have replaced it. It was user error all the way. I wear safety glasses whenever I'm working with anything that can result in injury. It's a small price to pay for keeping my vision :) Like a gun, the captive bolt gun also requires skill to use and can result in injury if things fail or if used incorrectly. Not putting it down - I truly love mine and it's the only method I use. In my opinion, the rabbit zinger is the hands-down all time best way to dispatch a rabbit; I'll never do it any other way again.
